BECOME A MEMBER

Membership is by invitation of a member only.

If you do not know a member and are passionate about our four philosophical pillars and have a desire to learn and get involved please write to the secretary at secretary@shanghaisavage.club or complete the following application, which will be submitted to the executive committee for review.

Membership is available on an invitation basis only. Potential members are required to be nominated and seconded by current members and a probationary period of three months exists. The best way to start your affiliation is by "button holing" a member and getting him to invite you to one of the Long Lunches arranged on the first Friday of each month. It is a good chance for you to meet the members and see the facilities. You have two lunches to engage and create the right impression if you wish to come along again. After your lunch you can confirm whether you enjoyed and wish to join or not. You will be asked and can offer your application after your second lunch. Pending your approval you may be invited to join in time for the next Long Lunch.

There are two types of membership, a locally based member and only after a minimum of one year as a full locally based member will you qualify as a potential overseas member should you move away from China. The fees are different as are the privileges for more information ask the secretary.

Your first annual fee payment confirms your membership. Subsequent payments are for the event specific costs only. The annual subscription covers the costs of their account set up and the member's tie, and a set of cuff-links to wear at club sponsored events such as the Long Lunch. Annual fees go towards subsidising members events, this website, legal fees deposits for club purchases and administration costs of the club.
